Good Nutrition is Important to Healthy Bodies
September 26, 2009
Nutrition is very important to the human body. In order for you to survive you have to consume food. Your body creates energy from the food you eat as well as getting the minerals and vitamins necessary for proper body function.
Keeping a well balanced diet is very important. You have to provide your body with the things it requires. You do not want to fill it with toxins that could be harmful to it. You only have one body and it has to last the rest of your life. To make sure that that is a long time, you have to eat healthy.
Everyone should keep a balanced diet. You can’t survive on protein or sugar by themselves. Making sure that your body is functioning properly depends on a combination of many factors. A set of guidelines has been created by the USDA that you can follow to make sure that you are at least getting the basics right. Refer to the Food Pyramid to learn how many servings of each food group that you need to consume each day.
Don’t fall into the habit of automatically following everything you hear about food. You can probably recall your mom telling you some “important” information like acne being caused by eating chocolate? Or that all fried foods cause acne? These are not true and are just myths. If they were true then to get rid of acne would merely be a process of eliminating chocolate from the diet! Admittedly they are not particularly good for your diet, however, acting on such information can result in you possibly missing out on something necessary to your body. Natural sugars, vitamins, minerals are found in food and your body needs all of these. If you quit eating all carbs to achieve acne no more, you’re missing out on a basic food group. Additionally it excludes related information such as the relationship between hormones and acne. Carbohydrates are broken down by the body into glucose, the body’s own form of sugar. The sugar produced furnishes the body with energy. There are actually, many forms of carbohydrate that are good for your health!
Eating three proper meals a day is something you really should do just as you should also consider healthy snacks for between meals. This proves to be beneficial to the body and will help you to feel better as well, especially if you have had an active day. A snack in between meals can provide a little energy boost that you body may need if it tends runs low after a few hours of having not eaten.” It can also serve to reduce the degree that being overly hungry can lead to overeating at the evening meal. Later, combined with a lack of physical activity after dinner and prior to sleeping, that produced energy from the food will be converted to fat and stored for later use. This can lead to other health problems indirectly because of the possibility of unwanted weight gain.
Providing your body with the proper nutrition is the key to maintaining good health and proper functioning of the body. You don’t have to stop eating everything that is unhealthy, after all eating is a pleasure as well, just remember that like many things moderation is the key.
